Easy Solar - Sierra Leone
Founded in 2016, Easy Solar is a social enterprise whose mission is to “light up lives”, by making energy, financial services and life-improving products affordable & accessible for all. Easy Solar is the leading distributor of solar products in Sierra Leone and Liberia. Easy Solar offers a range of high quality solar products, including study lights, larger lanterns that can charge phones, basic solar home systems with 3 to 4 bulbs, and large solar home systems that power appliances like fans and TVs. Recently, Easy Solar has started diversifying its offer by making fuel efficient cookstoves solar freezers, and smartphones available to its existing customers.
In 2019, Easy Solar launched an offer of larger solar systems (from 2kWp to 1MWp) called Easy Solar Power Solutions. Compatible with on-grid and off-grid set-ups, those high quality systems now power schools, hospitals, offices, agricultural businesses and large houses across the country.
Impact
Since its inception in 2016, Easy Solar has nearly doubled in size every year. Today, nearly 1,000,000 people in Sierra Leone and Liberia use an Easy Solar product every day to light up their house, charge their phones and power their lives.
